Zaizi partners with UK SMEs to launch Spearhead — a new sovereign collective for defence and security
Zaizi is a partner in Spearhead, a new collective of vetted UK sovereign SMEs working together as one accountable delivery partner for defence and security.
Spearhead gives buyers the depth and value of going direct to specialist SMEs, with none of the management burden.
Buyers hold one contract with one accountable team, while Spearhead handles coordination, interfaces, assurance, and risk.
Work is allocated on merit, pricing is transparent, and every member is UK-owned and UK-cleared.
“We joined Spearhead because we want to make it easier for government defence and security organisations to access specialist SME depth.
“By joining other UK-owned SMEs, we’re combining our unique resources and expertise into a single sovereign ecosystem to help tackle the hardest defence and security problems in the country.
“Zaizi brings 20 years of experience delivering secure, user-centred digital services to mission-critical government environments.
And joining this collective means our highly experienced security-cleared team — from former civil servants to military leaders and policy insiders — is helping expand the specialist sovereign capability available to government through Spearhead.”
Andrew Hawkins, Zaizi’s chief revenue officer
This launch comes as the UK Government commits to increasing direct SME spending in defence to £7.5 billion by 2028.
Spearhead provides a direct route for government and a ready-made delivery capability for primes preparing a bid.
Membership of Spearhead is by invitation, based on a proven record of delivering.
Oz Lane, Spearhead spokesperson, said: “For too long, the best specialist capability in this country has been kept out of procurement competitions built for scale. Spearhead exists to change that.
We have brought together SMEs who roll their sleeves up and deliver, every one of us is a leader in our own fields, and together we are broad enough to take on the largest programmes without ever losing that depth. And we have organised ourselves so Government can reach all of it through one accountable force.”
