Zaizi nominated for several diversity and inclusivity awards

Zaizi’s been nominated for multiple awards over the last few days, recognising our work around diversity and inclusivity.

We received two from the Growing Business Awards and two for the Makers 2023 Women in Software Awards.

In the Growing Business Awards, we secured nominations for ‘Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year’ and ‘The Bridges Positive Impact Award.’ Our entries highlighted how we recruit and develop people from diverse backgrounds to help us solve problems more effectively and drive positive change.

In the Makers 2023 Women in Software Awards, Zaizi is shortlisted for the ‘Changemakers’ category. The award celebrates those striving to drive change and diversity in the tech community.

One of our upcoming stars, Emily, also received a nomination for the ‘PowerList’ category, which recognises rising stars in the tech industry.

“We’re incredibly proud to receive multiple award nominations that recognise our commitment to diversity and inclusivity,” said Tracey Robinson, Zaizi’s Chief People Officer.

“At Zaizi, diversity and inclusion are at the core of our strategy. We believe the diversity of opinion and thoughts allows us to deliver better and more accessible public services.

“The nominations highlight our dedication to driving positive change within the tech community and allowing people from underrepresented backgrounds to thrive in the industry.”

The importance of diversity and inclusion

Diversity and inclusion are core to Zaizi’s strategy. 49% of our employees are from minority ethnic backgrounds. 37% are women, well ahead of the average in the tech industry of 28%.

Our strategy has helped us deliver the diversity of thinking we need to deliver public sector projects successfully. The services we design need to be inclusive and accessible for all citizens. The teams we deploy on projects need to be reflective of this ambition.

We’ve been recognised for our work around diversity and inclusivity, especially how we’ve engaged people from under-represented backgrounds into tech.

Recently we won the “Best Tech Employer (150-500 Employees)” at the 2023 Women in Tech Employer Awards.

Earlier in the year, our apprentices made headlines and were nominated for various awards — and even getting a mention from the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.

The Growing Business Awards, in its 26th year, recognises exceptional growing businesses. This year’s awards have 27 categories and celebrate SMEs for their strength, vision and resilience. Winners will be announced in November.

Women in Software is an annual awards celebrating women and allies that create an impact in the software industry. The awards ceremony will be held in September.
